InterContinental Wellington hotel completes comprehensive revamp
Guests visiting the InterContinental Wellington hotel will now enjoy a like-new experience in its guestrooms, restaurants and conference facilities following the completion of a multi-year, multi-million dollar renovation project.
The works began by introducing a new ‘Deluxe’ type to the room roster – boasting useful features such as USB power outlets, digital lighting controls, multi-device Internet access and 46-inch HDTVs, along with walk-in showers in the bathrooms.
Also revamped are the hotel’s 64 Club rooms and Club InterContinental Lounge, with the former offering digitally-controlled curtains and glass controls and the latter boasting views of Wellington’s harbour as guests enjoy their buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, barista coffee and evening canapés.
That’s joined by The Lobby Lounge – an intimate space where light meals and drinks are served, with a focus on spirits with over 140 on the menu – and Chameleon Restaurant, serving up local cuisine centred on the freshest produce.
The final piece of the puzzle fell into place this week with the opening of the hotel’s new conference facilities, including six meeting rooms, interactive whiteboards and digital lighting controls to make presenting an easy task.

I guess that the impending debut of Sofitel Wellington meant that they had to hurry-up with this long-overdue reno.
I still prefer the Bolton.
