Lufthansa is upgrading one of its two daily Frankfurt-New York (JFK) flights to a Boeing 747-8 from later this month.
Already sporting an Airbus A380 on the morning Frankfurt departure, the afternoon flight picks up the new Boeing bird from July 15 2014, with these flights on sale through the Lufthansa website:
Taking to the Frankfurt skies at 5:10pm, LH404 reaches New York at 7:50pm on the same day.
On the return, LH405 is wheels up at 9:45pm, touching down in Frankfurt at 11:20am on the following morning.
A Lufthansa spokesperson confirmed to Australian Business Traveller that the airline's "upcoming winter flight schedule ... will be published in the near future."
Until then, the 747-8’s appearance on New York flights is steady until October 25, at which time it’s back to a regular Boeing 747-400.

And they couldn't anymore because the designated bay has been taken up by EK's A380.

I'd take the 747-8 over the A380 in Biz any day!

Agreed. Product still isn't the best but you can't beat that German efficiency. The food isn't bad either.
