Luxury alert: St Regis Hong Kong opens April 11

Marriott is adding another dash of luxury to Hong Kong with its first St Regis hotel set to open on Thursday April 11, 2019.

Nestled within the heart of the colourful Wan Chai district, and near to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 129-room St Regis Hong Kong is well-positioned in the bustling city.

The 112 guestrooms and 17 signature suites have been shaped by local designer André Fu with a similar ‘East-meets-West’ aesthetics as his previous projects, including The Upper House – and visitors to that swank Admiralty hotel will note a dash of shared DNA in the design of the St Regis' entry.

Ascending the hotel tower, each room is cast as "a residentially-inspired retreat" with premium finishes such as Frette bedding and a solid oak table that doubles as both a dining and working area

A freestanding bath, twin vanity sinks and a separate shower area come standard in these base-level 50 m² rooms – already considerably larger than most hotel rooms in Hong Kong.

The eponymous St Regis Suite offers a spacious parlour with oriental details and separate king bedroom.

Next in the pecking order is the Metropolitan suite and the Governors suite…

… and finally, the resplendent 240 m² Presidential suite with expansive views across the harbour.

Guest rooms and suites offer personalised in-room check-in and the 24-hour attention of butler and 'e-butler' services.

There’s plenty of opportunities for wining and dining during your stay with the St Regis Bar serving signature cocktails and finger food.

Two Michelin-starred chefs take centre stage on the fine dining front. L’Envol, led by Olivier Elzar, will serve up French cuisine with Asian influences while Hung Chi-Kwong showcases his culinary skills in the Chinese restaurant Rùn.

For a more casual experience, The Drawing Room hosts afternoon tea and offers international food on the hotel’s Astor Terrace.

When it comes time to work all that indulgence off, you’ll be covered with the St Regis Athletics Club gym and the outdoor swimming pool.

Five event rooms, including the 518 m² pillar-free Astor Ballroom, will make the St Regis an appealingly fresh destination for meetings, functions and special events.

Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points at the St Regis Hong Kong, as well as take advantage of status benefits.

St Regis joins the W Hong Kong and Ritz Carlton as a Marriott Category 8 hotel, which commands a hefty 85,000 Marriott points to redeem for a standard night reward.

Bookings for the St Regis Hong Kong are available online now for stays commencing Friday April 12, 2019.

Category 8 should really be restricted to resorts and unique properties I think - this, while gorgeous, is not one of those properties which is a shame.

Strange, it’s not showing in Bonvoy as an option for my trip in May. Only on the website.
