Malaysia Airlines to add second new Airbus A330 to Australia-Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia Airlines will add a second all-new Airbus A330-300 from Australia to Kuala Lumpur later this year, following the April 20th debut of its first factory-fresh A330-300 on the Brisbane-Kuala Lumpur route.

An MAS spokeswoman confirmed with Australian Business Traveller that the airline "will introduce the new aircraft on another destination in Australia by the end of the year".

As previously reported, MAS has ordered fifteen A330s from Airbus as part of an extensive fleet renewal program which also includes Malaysia Airlines' first Airbus A380 due in April 2012. 

MAS was unable to specify if Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth would be the likely recipient of the new A330. The Malaysian flag-carrier currently runs two daily direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to KL and a daily direct flight six days per week from Adelaide.
