New Swiss Zurich Terminal A first class lounge has the look of luxe

Get ready to be very impressed by Swiss' newest first class lounge at Zurich Airport. Located at Terminal A, it's the stylish sibling of the Star Alliance member's Zurich Terminal E flagship.

And it's a first class experience from start to finish.

Accessible via an escalator from the Terminal A departure concourse, the first class lounges boasts its own check-in area and security checkpoint so you don't need to waste too much time before relaxing at the à la carte restaurant.

With bright oiled-oak parquet floor, Jura limestone walls and elegant Swiss designer furnishings, the richly-appointed 650m² space offers lounge suites, a 'lounge club' area with inviting leather sofas and a private meeting room with a view of the airport's apron area.

There's even a seperate smoking lounge with an outdoor deck and a selection of whiskies

But the visual centrepiece of the new lounge is an extensive bar with not just a wide range of barista-pulled coffees but over 100 Swiss grappas and fruit brandies.

Interestingly, Terminal A tends to be used for relatively short flights – if you're in for the long haul to, say, Asia or the Americas, a limousine will whisk you from this lounge to the Swiss First Lounge in Terminal E, which is the departure point for those flights.

The Swiss First Class Lounge at Zurich Terminal A is open to first class travellers plus HON Circle Members of the Lufthansa Group's Miles & More frequent flyer scheme.
