What to expect from China Airlines’ new A350 business class
The Taiwanese airline says a tip-to-tail makeover of its A350s is on the way.
China Airlines’ already-impressive A350 business class is set to get even better, with the SkyTeam member now working on new business class suites for its 15-strong fleet.
The Taiwanese airline is starting from a pretty good place, but we’re expecting the same step up from its current business class to doored private suites with bristling with mod cons such as wireless charging and 4K video screens with Bluetooth streaming.
In other words, a similar playbook to regional rival Cathay Pacific’s leap from its 2010-era business class to the new Aria Suites.
However, China Airlines promises “the all-new A350 cabin, which launches in 2027, will feature the same Oriental aesthetic of the current cabins, creating an emotional connection with travellers while strengthening the China Airlines brand.”
That cabin design seamlessly integrates literary and cultural elements with a unique and indeed exclusive persimmon woodgrain finish, offset by contrasting metallic textures and complemented by ambient lighting.
Also coming is a new inflight entertainment system and “onboard network”, which may mean faster WiFi thanks to next-gen satellite systems.
China Airlines says after the first revamped A350 takes wing in 2027, “cabin upgrades of all 15 aircraft are to be completed by 2028.”
Also in the region’s A350 upgrade club is Singapore Airlines, which will fit new business and first class suites to its long-range A350 fleet from 2026.

I hope the new Premium Economy keeps the excellent 7 abreast layout and doesn't follow the 8 abreast seen on competitors like SQ and CX.

To me 7 across is a really good middle ground between economy and business. They’re really pushing their product into the Business Lite category as opposed to Economy Plus. Going to 8 across will put it into that latter category.
