Four Seasons debuts bespoke Swiss Alps, Napa Valley driving tours
The luxury hotel group is embracing the romance of road travel with two one-of-a-kind itineraries.
Picture yourself weaving along hairpin bends in the Swiss Alps behind the wheel of a classic convertible – charming villages dotting the landscape; dramatic scenery at every turn.
While this could be the intro for a new Bond film, it’s actually one of two new itineraries from Four Seasons Drive Experience.
Revving its engine from June 12 to 18 this year, the ‘Heart of the Alps’ tour spans three regions over seven unforgettable days, with visits to acclaimed wineries, the home of Gruyère cheese and the UNESCO listed Lavaux Vineyard Terraces just a few of the highlights.
Complementing it is the equally spectacular ‘Napa Valley Journey’. Instead of sweeping mountain passes though, this itinerary – from October 29 to November 4 – unlocks exclusive winery access and even briefly takes to the skies with a hot air balloon ride.
While both are vastly different tours, they each share a common link: signature service and five star hotels, with the experiences tailored to each traveller by the Four Seasons team.
“Four Seasons Drive Experience is a natural extension of who we are and what we deliver – creating curated experiences that allow guests to discover the character of a locale in new and unexpected ways," explains Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
“From behind the wheel of a luxury vehicle, guests will enjoy an exceptional drive experience, always with Four Seasons service and genuine heart as their guide.”
After a few days based out of the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva, the Alpine itinerary continues to the chalet-style Four Seasons Hotel Megève, with numerous stops along the way including Mont Blanc Massif for 360-degree views of France, Italy and Switzerland.
In Napa, guests stay amid the region’s rolling vineyards at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences, and enjoy day trips such as an immersive oyster farming experience and gourmet lunch at Tomales Bay, in addition to an exclusive tour of Opus One Winery.
Both experiences follow on from last year’s highly-successful Tuscan itinerary, which encompassed centuries-old wineries and the enchanting Renaissance city of Florence.
