Madrid’s new UMusic hotel marks a global debut
Vinyl record players and electric guitars are just the warm-up act in the Spanish capital’s latest luxury hotel.
Travellers to Madrid will soon enjoy a world-first experience filled with rhythm and soul, with Universal Music Group’s hotly-anticipated hospitality debut – UMusic Hotel Madrid – welcoming guests from November 14.
Initially planned to debut in the United States, the Spanish capital is now the global launch city for the brand, with the five star hangout breathing new life into the historic Albeniz Theater building.
Previously-announced hotels in Atlanta, Biloxi (Mississippi) and Orlando are expected to roll out in the near future.
Emerging from a two year renovation and restoration, the upscale UMusic hotel boasts 130 guests rooms, two lobbies, a sleek bar and restaurant, outdoor pool, and rooftop bar with impressive views across the Madrid skyline.
Music also forms a core part of the experience, from rooms with vinyl record players and electric guitars to live performances from local and visiting artistic talent in its reinvigorated 898-capacity theatre.
The location couldn’t be more central: nestled in the iconic La Paz street, in the city’s Centro district, with both the bustling Gran Via theatre strip and the emblematic Puerta del Sol – Madrid’s most famous central square – located just a five-minute stroll away.
Robert Lavia, CEO of UMusic Hotels, says the Madrid property has important strategic value for the soon to be global hotel group.
“Not only is it our first establishment in Europe, but the new hotel lives in a beautiful, historic building that perfectly combines hospitality and entertainment,” Lavia explains.
“The new UMusic Hotel will underscore Madrid as a vibrant hub for music, arts, and entertainment; serving as a creative hub that will promote social impact, education, sustainability and innovation through the power of music.”
‘Company’, a musical comedy starring internationally-renowned Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, will be the first production at the new-look Albeniz, running until February 2023.
Universal Music Spain will continue working with the property and keep bringing Madrid some of the biggest names in the industry, making UMusic Hotel Madrid a “premiere destination for guests around the world”.
