Garuda offers in-flight visa processing from Sydney

Now this is something we'd like to see a lot more of!

Passengers travelling from Sydney to Jakarta with Garuda Indonesia will now be able to have their visas processed during the flight. Payment for the processing will be made when checking in at Sydney Airport, for around $25.

The service mean passengers can zip through through immigration at Jakarta, bypassing lengthy queues and avoiding currency exchange hassles.

Garuda plans to introduce the same system into other cities if the Sydney-Jakarta scheme is successful.
