AccorHotels will boost its portfolio in the Northern Territory next year, taking over the existing Rydges Darwin Airport hotel and badging it as the Novotel Darwin Airport hotel.
Located within the airport precinct, the 136-room property sits within metres of the terminal doors and will undergo an extensive refurbishment program as part of the transition process.
“The Novotel brand already has an award-winning presence in the Top End with Novotel Darwin Atrium which unveiled a multimillion dollar upgrade in 2014,” said AccorHotels Pacific COO Simon McGrath.
With the neighbouring Rydges Darwin Airport Resort also being rebranded as the Mercure Darwin Airport Resort and expanded by 108 new-build rooms, McGrath added that “we hope to see some great synergies between the Darwin three hotels over the coming months.”
It’s expected that members of the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program will be able to earn and redeem Le Club points at both new Darwin hotels.
