Novotel Melbourne Central quietly opens its door for guests
Melbourne’s newest dual-branded hotel is now welcoming guests, after the soft opening of the Novotel Melbourne Central and the ibis Melbourne Central on 12 November.
Located within a 35-story tower on 399 Little Lonsdale St, travellers will be at the doorstep of Melbourne Central station, the Emporium shopping mall, and the buzzing food scene around Hardware Lane.
The mid-scale Novotel Melbourne Central offers 213 luxury rooms and suites, located from floors 20-35. Guests have access to the InBalance gym and a 24-hour concierge desk. Each room is outfitted with a deluxe rainfall shower and comes with a 55” Google Chromecast-enabled TV, making it easy for business travellers to cast Netflix or their latest PowerPoint presentation onto the big screen. Bedding is described as ‘five-star quality’ and the rooms are finished with granite and marble benches, accented with gold trim inspired from Cartier. The neighbouring ibis Melbourne Central takes floors 4-18, with 270 ‘premium economy’ guest rooms. Chef Michael Smith helms two restaurants and a bar within the complex – Goldie Asian Canteen + Brews, Pretty Boy Italian Steakhouse and Floyd’s Bar – all set to open January 2019. Guests of the hotels are able to earn points and privileges through AccorHotels’ loyalty program, which is free to join. The official ribbon-cutting opening of the properties will be on 10 December 2018, but of course, you can book and stay from today onwards.

Clever photography but rooms in both look pretty darn small.

'Compact' is the word. Brand new, good central quiet location, excellent for transport facilities. Two hotels in one building, Mmmm.
