Now open: new Singapore Airlines lounge at London Heathrow T2

Singapore Airlines' new SilverKris lounge at London Heathrow's T2 terminal is now open, adding to the preflight options for SQ and other Star Alliance passengers.

Split into separate first class and business class zones, the lounge shares the same 'Home Away From Home' design as Singapore Airlines' other new and made-over lounges, including Sydney and Hong Kong.

This includes a number of distinct spaces within the lounge, with a wide variety of seating for groups and solo travellers alike...

... plus these comfortable and well-connected 'productivity pods' with work desks, AC and USB power.

The airline promises its 'taste of Singapore' themed menu will be changed regularly and incorporate "authentic local culinary delights cooked freshly by on-site chefs."

The first class lounge offers à la carte dining with five different menus throughout the day (and at least two menus available at any one time, the airline says), with a self-service buffet for business class.

Finally, spacious shower suites let you freshen up before your flight.

The SilverKris Lounge at London Heathrow's T2 terminal is open to business and first  class passengers on Singapore Airlines or other Star Alliance airlines, as well as PPS Club and Kris Flyer Gold members and their Star Alliance equivalents, and Virgin Australia's Velocity Platinum and Gold card-holders.

Home away from home....interesting. The lounge looks nothing like the HDB flats I've seen!

Finally after 9 months delay...my entire house was built in 5 months so I can't imagine why it took so long.  I will be trying this next year.

Used the lounge on a return trip from Singapore. Suffered a burn from the soup utensil that was near empty and therefore at boil. Suffered a burn that resulted in blistering. The staff were unable to assist as they did not have the appropriate burn treatment on hand and therefore had to leave the lounge and seek treatment outside.

Service appalling. I wrote to Singapore Airlines on return but got a standard reply. Obviously my trip home in business was no fun.

I am sure if this was the Qantas lounge the attention would have been a lot more appropriate.

SQ, please ensure your lounges have the appropriate first aid medical provisions on hand and that your staff are given better training.
