SkyTeam passengers flying through Dubai International Airport can now relax in an all-new SkyTeam-branded lounge, in a style that some will recognise from the alliance’s Hong Kong facility which opened in late 2015.

Situated in Terminal 1’s Concourse D, the lounge welcomes all business class, first class and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers of Aeroflot, Air France, China Eastern, China Southern, Kenya Airways, KLM, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia and TAROM flying internationally from Dubai.

Spanning 960 square metres and with seating for 180 guests, shower facilities are on offer – as you’d expect of any true international-grade lounge – with the space proper divided into various zones.

First up, you’ll find a bar plus a buffet with a selection of hot and cold items that reflect both Middle Eastern cuisine and that of the home country of each SkyTeam airline serving Dubai…

… joined by a laidback lounge area with easy access to power via the while cocktail tables in between the seats:

Prefer to get some work done instead? Perch yourself at one of these bench seats for that feeling of a little privacy but without losing the lounge’s spacious and open feel…

… or, for a quicker trek on your next round, these seats come bar-adjacent:

Also on offer: a selection of reading material, plus seats geared towards solo travellers with adjacent cocktail tables and power points:

“Dubai is a rapidly emerging global aviation hub and the busiest airport in the world for international passengers, so this was a natural location for our latest lounge to meet the expectations of our premium passengers,” said SkyTeam CEO and MD Perry Cantarutti.

These passengers will also pass a ‘living wall’ of plants within the lounge, a ‘digital art gallery’ featuring works by different artists and can access a TV room, a children’s room, wireless Internet, printing facilities and also a VIP room, by invitation or booking.

SkyTeam’s latest branded lounge follows Hong Kong’s debut in October 2015 and precedes a new SkyTeam Beijing lounge: set to open later this year.

A bit too dull for my liking, but looks great nevertheless!
