Not just extra legroom
The first thing to know about the new Premium Economy is that it’s not just a legroom upgrade – it’s a new travel experience, which means a premium seat, enhanced food and beverage options and added benefits in the sky and at the airport.
Priority privileges
Once you’re at the airport, look for the ‘priority’ signs near the American Airlines check-in counters. You’ll get access to priority check-in, security screening and boarding to help speed you through the airport and on to your flight.
A premium experience
Once you’re on board, you’ll be directed to Premium Economy, with 21 seats behind Business.
Head to your seat, and you’ll find a pillow, blanket, amenity kit and noise-reducing headphones waiting for you – all to make sure your flight is as comfortable as possible.
The leather Premium Economy seats feature 38-inches of pitch, and are laid out in a 2-3-2 configuration, making them wider and roomier than the standard Main Cabin seat. You’ll also find expandable head, foot and leg rests so that you can stretch out in comfort.
Passengers in Premium Economy also get a distinct food and beverage experience, with chef-inspired meals specially curated for your flight.
You’ll also enjoy complimentary beers, wines and spirits while you’re on board – perfect for sitting back and enjoying the 19-inch personal seatback screen loaded with free entertainment, movies, live TV and television shows.
Your office in the sky
If you’ve got some work to take care of, Premium Economy in the Boeing 787-9 offers power outlets at your seat. With the extra room on board, you can set up your laptop and dig into any last-minute tasks that need taking care of.
All 787-9 Dreamliner flights on the trans-pacific flight also feature WiFi - just purchase a pass on board to stay connected while you're in the air.
Premium Economy between Los Angeles (LAX) and Sydney (SYD) launches starting October 31 this year, and with all the benefits offered on board and on the ground, it’s a great choice for all travellers on a budget.
