IN BRIEF | Qantas has upgraded its mobile website to search for flights and make bookings on both domestic and international services.
The mobile site appears whenever you visit Qantas.com from a smartphone, so it's not an app per se – just a pared-down version of the full Qantas website with the core functionality shown front and centre, to deliver one-tap access to the most commonly used parts of the site.
And that most core of functions for an airline – searching and booking flights – is now part of the deal at Qantas.com on your mobile phone.
“We have listened to our customers who want greater convenience in the booking process. They want flexibility to book flights away from their home or office, or on their way to the airport" says Lyell Strambi, Chief Executive Officer for Qantas Domestic.
“Our customers can now book and pay for flights and check-in, all in the palm of their hand."
It's not a patch on the amazing Qantas app for Windows Phones, of course – and the Red Roo has hinted that a dedicated app for Android and Apple's iOS is also on the way.
