Qantas will embark on a major push for its Qantas Club airport lounges, with Miranda Kerr fronting a new series of advertisements for the lounges.
Although we'd expect Kerr is more of the Chairman's Lounge type, the NSW country girl turned international supermodel will be the face of a campaign which the airline says "is designed to engage with current members, attract new members and highlight the many benefits of Qantas Clubs for both business and leisure travellers."
Qantas Clubs are located at most Qantas ports, with a new one to open at Gold Coast Airport later this year, and are available to paying individuals and corporate members along with Qantas Frequent Flyers wielding Platinum or Gold status.
By comparison, the more up-market Qantas Business Lounges – which are found only in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra – are restricted to business class travellers and Qantas Platinum card-holders.
This will be Qantas' first dedicated push for its lounges since Virgin Australia aggressively entered the business travel market and began revamping its own lounges at Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with the upper floor of the new-look Sydney lounge tipped to open within the next few weeks.
Virgin has already opened its exclusive The Club lounge at Sydney earlier this month.
