Qantas boosts Darwin flights for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth
Qantas is ramping up flight to Darwin with new services to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth building to a reshaped schedule by the end of March.
Melbourne-Darwin will move to a daily Boeing 737-800 service by the middle of March, with travellers having already seen the previous four flights each week progressively increased from October 2013.
Also on the up is Brisbane-Darwin, which until late November 2013 was daily but is progressively moving to 11 flights per week by March 10th. The daily flights are on a Qantas' Boeing 767 but the extra four flights per week use a Boeing 737-800.
Perth-Darwin increases from daily flights to nine flights per week from March 7th, while Sydney-Darwin will gain one extra daylight flight every Tuesday from March 30th.
“Our business and premium leisure customers wanted access to more seats at peak times and greater choice in and out of Darwin (and) our schedule expansion delivers on this" a Qantas spokesperson told Australian Business Traveller, adding that the extra flights "will cater for the region’s current and projected growth."

It sounds like they're utilising the 738's that they removed from Melb/Syd - Hobart services to this route which would probably deliver better yields, at a guess
