Qantas is revamping its business class amenity kits inside and out, with new Kate Spade and Jack Spade bags plus Aurora Spa skincare products.
The new kits will debut from November 1 on Qantas' flagship Airbus A380 flights between Australia and London, Dubai, Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth "and will roll out progressively to all other international services", the airline says.
The Kate Spade kit for ladies features a bold new geometric print...
... while the Jack Spade kit for men is dressed with a bright red stripe.
The current Malin+Goetz skincare products will make way for ASPAR products from Australia's own Aurora Spa, which is now also used in the day spas of the Qantas First Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne.

Aurora Spa's ASPAR line also features in the bathrooms of all Qantas International and Domestic Business Lounges in Australia as well as Qantas Lounges in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The amenity kits include a 'Qantas exclusive' ASPAR Sweet Orange & Shea Hand Cream, Vanilla & Orange Lip Moisturiser and an Ultra Hydrating Face Moisturiser.
“The new amenity kits and Aurora Spa products will add an extra touch of luxury and style to the inflight experience” said Kylie Morris, Head of Customer Experience for Qantas International.
“Customers love the design and functionality of the Kate Spade and Jack Spade kits - in fact many tell us they use the kits long after their flight as make-up bags or to store their phones and chargers.”

Not sure why Qantas insist on still making it look like an up market pencil case.

They don't look particularly high-end or stylish.

I won't use these down-graded products. Bring back creditable brands that we're likely to buy during our global travels.

I suspect you haven't even used their products? The brand is in fact a credible brand, and has been developed after the operation of their spa in Melbourne at the Prince Hotel and more recently at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast. I believe the spa won Best Luxury Day Spa for Australia this year.
I like the fact that Qantas have picked a less known brand to most people. Brands like Aesop are oversaturated and have lost some of their appeal. The fact that Aurora Spa is an Australian small business is an added bonus
Also, I personally don't like Malin+Goetz range of products. I think that was an odd choice at the time.

You don't like a brand because it is popular? Doesn't seem like a rational ground to reject (unless you are a hipster, I guess) - Payot is popular for good reason and I loved it when Qantas had these products in their amenity kits. It's about the only time I liked the Qantas kits (the first kit even came in an excellent fold bag). But I agree with you about the Malin+Goetz products - they weren't very nice.

Over-saturated in the context used is a crack about said product being ubiquitous - which given these companies are commercial entities that create product to satisfy demand, mean they are popular. Or are you really trying to mask that Aesop are a leading popular brand?

I didn't say Aesop was a popular brand, I didn't say they were unpopular either.
All I said is you took three totally seperate statements made by radiC00l then twisted that into the conculsion they don't like a particular brand because it is popular. No such thing was said.
For what it is worth I think most airline amentiy kits are a waste of time Qantas incuded.
Of Qantas' kits the best one I found was the Payot first class that I first got circa Jan 2011 on a trip LHR-BKK-SYD, which incidently they were still using as business class kits on some routes when I last flew Qantas J about a month back. Though the return was the silly pencil case thing. Good for storage of coins etc at home though, not much else.

Goodness me. It's an amenities kit. I can't believe the way some people carry on about this that in the scheme of things is not that important. But that said. The pack looks nice & Kate Spade is a nice brand.

When you fly other airlines in business and you get something upmarket and fly Qantas and get a pencil case it kinda doesnt do well for the image. We are more looking at Qantas products they have to stay ahead of the game :)

Just had a massage and facial at the Spa in the First Lounge at SYD using the Aspar products and am genuinely delighted with the quality, so am looking forward to topping up with the samples in the amenity kit. Great to see Qantas supporting an Aussie brand that makes good quality products. As for the pouch/pencil case, I actually really like these, they're a handy size for sorting out and carrying bits and pieces like travel power adapters, basic first aid items and medications plus other detritus including pens and pencils!
