Qantas will open an all-new lounge at WA's northwestern resources hub of Karratha in early 2017 for business class travellers, Gold and Platinum frequent flyers and Qantas Club members.
To be built on the upper level of the airport, with floor to ceiling windows offering a view of the tarmac, the new facility will be more than double the size of the current well-worn lounge and follow the airline's 'regional lounge' template.
"Karratha is our largest port in the region so investing in a new lounge is a clear indication of our commitment to Karratha and the Pilbara," says QantasLink CEO John Gissing.
"As the only airline to offer a lounge at Karratha Airport, this will be a great boost to both Pilbara region locals as well as the important Fly-in Fly-out market, offering more room to relax prior to their flight."
Qantas and QantasLink offer up to nine return flights per day between Perth and Karratha, while the recently-opened Qantas Business Lounge at Perth will provide a jumping-off point for travellers continuing to the east coast.
