Qantas upgrades domestic lounge menus

Qantas upgrades domestic lounge menus

Passengers stopping by Qantas Clubs and domestic Business Lounges can now enjoy a wider selection of varied dining options.

In the afternoons, Platinum frequent flyers, Oneworld Emerald members and business class passengers can 'sample' sweet treats in the Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane Business Lounges.

Traditional brownies, éclairs, profiteroles and honeycomb slice are all up for grabs, along with more "diversified menus" for breakfast, lunch and dinner, said a statement released by Qantas.

The menus will differ "by port, so customers travelling from (one) city to another experience a greater selection."

Domestic Qantas Clubs throughout the lounge network will feature an "expanded breakfast selection including boiled eggs", with these lounges also the target of more frequent menu shake-ups.

Afternoons bring hot snacks ranging from samosas and marinated chicken wings through to a sure hit: baked fries with aioli, sweet chilli and sour cream.

These changes complement the existing all-day barista coffee service and Island Dining in the Business Lounges, which will both continue.

I saw the boiled eggs at SYD Qantas Club last week and was surprised to see them. Great to see them stick around!

Returning from MEL Qantas Club I didn't see any fries, only party pies.

Is Island Dining still happening in the International Business Lounges?

Boiled egg... Nice... Toast soldiers as well? :)

I tend to eat meat and nuts for breakfast, has done wonders for more energy and keeping trim.

Surely for breakfast they could introduct turkey steaks and almonds? :)

Since anytime access for WPs was cancelled during the NGCI changes a few years back, I'd be very concerned if there were any customers not travelling from one city to another!

But the shake-up looks good, and it'd be great to have hot breakfast items in the QP.
