Raffles is bringing its unique luxury to Sentosa, Bali, India
Over 135 years after the original Raffles opened its doors in the heart of Singapore, the luxury hotel will gain a nearby neighbour at Singapore's Sentosa island resort.
Set to open in 2022, the Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa will be an 'all-villa' hotel set in over 100,000 square metres of sprawling tropical gardens with views over the South China Sea.
Palawan Beach's restaurants, food stalls and bars won't be too far away, nor will the tranquility of Tanjong Beach or the island's two golf courses: the New Tanjong Course and the challenging Serapong, created for the Singapore Open and regarded as one of Asia's best championship courses.
Villas at the Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa will range in size from 260 square metres for a single bedroom to 450 square metres for a four-bedroom villa – with each boasting its own private pool and terrace for the ultimate in seclusion and comfort.
The brand's signature Raffles Butlers and Raffles Spa are also part of Sentosa's recipe for relaxation.
Another Raffles property will spring up at Bali's exclusive Jimbaran Bay in 2020. Perched on a hill offering unparalleled ocean views, Raffles Bali will comprise just 32 private villas – again, each with its own private pool – in a design created to blend seamlessly with the tropical surrounds of the 23 hectare spread.
India, meanwhile, will gain two Raffles resorts over the coming years.
Set to open in 2020, Raffles Udaipur will be the country's first Raffles. Udaipur is often referred to as the 'Venice of the East' and is famous for its rich cultural heritage, lakes, temples and palaces.
The palatial Raffles Udaipur will occupy its own private island in the middle of picturesque Udai Sagar Lake, with 101 luxurious suites affording spectacular views of the lake, hillside and neighbouring 400-year-old temple.
2022 will see a ribbon-cutting for Raffles Jaipur, claimed as "the most exclusive Raffles in the world" due to having just 50 suites (all with private pools).
Strategically located as part of the popular Golden Triangle tourist route which includes Jaipur, New Delhi and Agra, the Raffles Jaipu's secluded residences and courtyards will join a larger complex that currently houses the Fairmont Jaipur.
