Singapore Airlines extends opening hours of Sydney airport lounges
Singapore Airlines will keep its Sydney SilverKris business class and first class lounges open until late evenings from May 1, in keeping with the start of the new SQ288 overnight flight to Singapore via Canberra.
That flight leaves Sydney at 9.20pm, so the airline's lounge will push back its closing time from a standard 6.30pm (outside of summertime) to 9pm to accommodate passengers heading out on the 10-hour trip.
This will also see the lounge accessible to business class passengers and top-tier frequent flyers on any other Star Alliance airlines with late-night departures from Sydney – such as ANA's NH880 flight to Tokyo, which departs at 8.55pm – as an alternative to the Air New Zealand lounge.
The Singapore Airlines lounge generally offers a wider range of food than the neighbouring AirNZ lounge, although in our experience the WiFi is appallingly slow.

Nice! Yeah, I've been turned away from SQ lounge a couple of times when flying NH, was told they have already "closed", even tho it was only 6pm and their opening hour is suppose to be open until 7pm....

You can ask. I have found that access is sometimes allowed when the lounge is not busy and the person at reception is not having a bad day.

You can't. Airside lounges in SYD are only available to departing passengers. If you arrive in SYD the only way you can access another international lounge is if you are in transit for an onwards international flight.

I suspect you're referring to a different lounge

If you are on the same ticket and therefor (I assume) travelling Virgin, you can access the Virgin lounge in the Sydney Domestic terminal.
Departures and Arrivals are separate in Sydney, so you cannot get back into the Lounge unless transiting to another international flight.

As answered no you can't but you should be able to access the virgin lounge ( if flying them ) though the virgin lounge is no anything special...but a nicer seat and a beer to pass the time beats a domestic gate seat and a $7 can of coke

Does anyone know whether you can purchase single entry pass to the SQ lounge for an additional guest?
