KrisFlyer offering 50% bonus miles, status through shopping

Singapore Airlines is celebrating 25 years of its KrisFlyer program with a limited-time promotion offering 50% bonus Krisflyer Miles plus Elite Miles on shopping. 

Elite Miles are the ones needed to jump from the basic KrisFlyer to Elite Silver and Elite Gold status, and are normally only earned through flying on Singapore Airlines or its Star Alliance partners, which makes this a very welcome deal. 

Not only that, PPS Club members can earn PPS Value (which is required to go from PPS Club to Solitaire status) on their shopping too, rather than only through first and business class flights on Singapore Airlines, as is usually the case.

Solitaire delivers the same core benefits of PPS Club status (read all about it here), with the addition of first class check-in, reimbursement for the cost of an APEC Business Travel Card, and more.

Of course, there is a cap for both: 2,500 PPS Value or 5,000 Elite miles, but it’s still a decent boost to your balance for those just shy of jumping up to the next level.

KrisFlyer has two kinds of 'miles': KrisFlyer Miles and Elite Miles, with the latter essentially Status Credits.

Here’s everything you need to know:

From now until February 10, KrisFlyer members can earn 50% bonus miles (capped at 5,000 per segment) through the ‘Bonus Miles Promotion’ for all SQ flights booked on the airline’s website or app for travel between July 1 and November 20, 2024.

Come March, the ‘Earn Status Credits Beyond the Skies’ promo then takes flight – this is the one for Elite Miles and PPS Value, and will last from March to May, 2024.

Members will earn 1 PPS Value for every SGD $3 spent, or 1 Elite mile for every SGD $1 spent on non-flight activities through Kris+, KrisShop, or Pelago.

The exact dates are yet to be revealed, with the T&C website simply listing ‘coming soon’.
