SkyTeam launches new online Round The World booking app

SkyTeam has finally caught up to competitors Star Alliance and oneworld with the debut of an online Round The World booking tool.

The web-based app lets users build their Round The World itinerary using any of SkyTeam's 19 member airlines – a list which will grow to 20 when Garuda Indonesia officially joins in March this year – from a minimum of three stops up to the maximum of 15 stops.

When you're done with the pointing and clicking to plot your trip you'll automatically be shown one of four matching fare levels which range from 26,000 miles to 38,000 miles.

"The booking tool has been designed to simplify even the most complex itinerary, providing convenience and a pleasant, efficient experience for our passengers," said Mauro Oretti, SkyTeam’s vice president sales & marketing, adding that the tool will help expose many destinations which he considers to be "hidden gems" of the SkyTeam family.

Another unique attribute of SkyTeam, Oretti says, is that it boasts some useful routes for round-the-world trippers which are not offered by Star Alliance or oneworld, such as non-stop services between Latin America and Asia, Korea and Africa.
