Solomon Airlines will return to Sydney after a 14-year absence from New South Wales, with non-stop flights from its hub in Honiara commencing in June.
IE711 pushes back in Sydney at 9:30am on Tuesdays for a 2:45pm arrival into the Solomon capital from June 2, while IE710 is wheels-up in Honiara at 3:15pm on Mondays to reach Sydney in time for dinner at 6:30pm.
Served by an Airbus A320 with both business class and economy, the new services complement the airline’s current four-times-weekly flights to Brisbane and give Sydneysiders direct access to the Solomon Islands.
With Solomon Air's Brisbane services departing the Sunshine State on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Australian business travellers have the flexibility to depart Australia or to return on five days each week.
Competitor Virgin Australia runs its own flights from Brisbane to Honiara on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make a complete weekly schedule, although doesn’t codeshare or partner with Solomon Airlines.
