Starwood doubles points-to-miles transfers to Singapore Airlines

In brief: Starwood's Starpoints loyalty programme returns to a 1:1 transfer basis to Singapore Airlines' Krisflyer scheme this month, ditching the previous 2:1 transfer rate which put SQ at a disadvantage over other Starpoints partner airlines.

Based on the maximum 79,999 points-per-day transfer limit, and taking into account Starwood's bonus of 5,000 Starpoints for each 20,000 points you shift off their books, this means that you could clock up just shy of 95,000 Krisflyer points in a single swoop.

That's enough for an economy trip from Sydney to London or any of SQ's other European destinations on a 'Saver' fare.
