Following the release of its iPhone and Android smartphone apps, Sydney Airport has flicked the switch on a mobile-friendly website.
The mobile SYD site packages the core of the full sydneyairport.com.au website into a finger-friendly design intended for today's touchscreen devices, with updated information on flights, shopping and parking.
Sydney Airport says that almost half of the 500,000 monthly visitors to their website do so from a mobile device – and that's on top of the increasingly popular iPhone and Android apps, which have been downloaded by more than 80,000 people.
"We want to make it even easier for customers to use our website, so our new mobile-friendly airport website is a one-stop-shop for information on everything from security procedures to accommodation direct to your phone" explained Sydney Airport CEO Kerrie Mather.
The airport has also launched Simplified Chinese versions of both its desktop and mobile sites to tap into the booming Chinese market.

This is a good to see as the full site didn't do well on smartphones at all. However SYD has had a very nice app on iPhone for a while now -

SYD having a Windows Phone app would also be handy too. But I guess the mobile site is good enough now. Thanks for posting this.
