Members of the Hilton HHonors, Hyatt Gold Passport, IHG Rewards Club and Marriott Rewards programs should act fast to pocket a 50% bonus when converting their hotel loyalty points into Qantas frequent flyer points.
Available between Friday May 22 and Friday May 29 2015 (inclusive), there’s no need to register before you transfer: just ship your points across and that bonus is yours.
Including the 50% boost, here’s what your hotel points could become:
- 10,000 Hilton HHonors points = 2,250 Qantas Points
- 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points = 3,600 Qantas Points
- 10,000 IHG Rewards Club points = 3,000 Qantas Points
- 10,000 Marriott Rewards points = 2,250 Qantas Points
While converting hotel loyalty points into frequent flyer points doesn’t always present the best value, it remains a handy way to top-up your account if you’re a few thousand points short of a free flight or upgrade, or if they’re about to expire in the hotel’s own program.
Other frequent guest programs aren’t part of the deal, including Accor Le Club which already delivers 4,000 Qantas frequent flyer points for every 4,000 Le Club points converted.
For more information, head to the Qantas website and click on your preferred hotel reward program.

Does anyone know if any of these hotels allow you to purchase their points? Good way to getting lot's of FF points.

Hyatt have an offer running to May 31 that gives a 40% bonus when puchasing 10,000 points or more. They're also offering 5000 bonus miles when transferring 50,000 Hyatt points to your Frequent Flyer program (note the special conversion rate for Qantas FF on their web site). Sounds good on paper, but when you crunch the numbers and allow for A$ to $US currency conversion it seems to work out only marginally better value than buying the points as a top-up direct from Qantas. Anyway - their website is www.goldpassport.com if you have interest.

Following reading this post, I waited until the 28th to see if the 50% bonus point offer would be advertised by Qantas or Hilton, which it was not. I transferred 50000 points anyway but only received base points not the 50% bonus. Unsure if they will follow or not.

This was advertised on the Qantas website (as linked in the article) during the promotion period.
Bonus points of this nature can sometimes take a few weeks to appear, so just sit tight and wait for them to appear.
