Virgin Atlantic's new inflight safety video is packed with movie references
Virgin Atlantic's new inflight safety video celebrates movies and the people who made them.
The airline revealed the animated short overnight, ahead of its debut on Virgin Atlantic flights from March 1st and in a nod to the 86th Academy Awards to be held on March 2nd.
The admittedly long six minute video includes nods to Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, among others.
"We wanted to create a video that reflected the airline's love of cinema, whilst continuing to advance our reputation for quality and innovation" explained Leon Trigg, Virgin Atlantic's production manager.
"This video will be watched thousands of times a week, so it was vital it had the cheeky Virgin Atlantic edge we're known and loved for."
Watch it for yourself below and let us know if this is a five-star Oscar-winning effort or a zero-star Golden Turkey.
