Virgin Australia to open new Cairns Airport lounge this month

Virgin Australia will open its new lounge at Cairns Airport at the end of this month, adding to the airline's regional lounge network.

Located on the upper level of the domestic terminal, the lounge will seat 180 guests "and encapsulate Virgin Australia’s distinct look and feel", a spokeswoman for Virgin Australia confirmed to Australian Business Traveller.

"The space will offer a range of facilities we know are important to our guests including dedicated areas to relax, recharge and refuel as well as a meeting room, a range of entertainment options, a gourmet menu designed by Luke Mangan and a barista station."

As with all other Virgin Australia lounges, the Cairns facility will be open seven days a week, from 45 minutes prior to departure of the first flight until the last flight of the day is called for boarding.

Australia Business Traveller will be attending a media preview of the Cairns lounge prior to its official public opening, so keep an eye on our Twitter feed for the first pics.
