Virgin Blue chief John Borghetti says Australians are ready for inflight internet and his airline will offer it the instant infrastructure is available for it.
"[Australians] are ready for it, especially on longer sector journeys," he told Australian Business Traveller at Virgin Blue's financial presentation this afternoon.
"The big issue is not so much an airline issue -- it's an infrastructure issue," he said.
"If you fly on Virgin America from San Francisco to New York, for example, you could use live internet all the way because they have the infrastructure in place to let that happen."
"We're not there yet in Australia, but we believe in the next 2-3 years we will have that capability."
"As soon as that capability is available, you'll see us entering that space."
