Can any class of ticket holder access Qantas lounges? Is there an annual fee? I have not flown other than economy so some may feel the question dumb. Sorry.
QF lounges are for frequent flyers. You can get access to them via complimentary visit passes (i think you get two when you hit silver) and access to the lounge whenever you fly with qantas with gold and above. You can also access them if you bought Qantas Club membership (but you still have to fly with Qantas). Fee for qantas club is not cheap, please visit qantas website. From time to time, they offer membership at discounted rate.
If you mainly fly economy and fly irregularly, consider buying Qantas club membership, but if you fly regularly, you should hit Qantas gold and get free access.
In addition to the above, to state the obvious, they're available to business and first class passengers of any FF level but for economy travellers, only those with passes or of gold level or above.

Correction: QF Silvers get one (1) complimentary pass per membership year - not two.
Solid advice David, I relied on Qantas Club passes until I hit Qantas Gold status, but they're only useful if you're going to spend an hour or so in the lounge, otherwise in any decent airport you can just buy a coffee and sandwich.
The ones I have from Westpac come with a very long validity period, so it will be a while before any change removes all of the passes that can be sold (irrespective of the T&Cs).
(Edit - now I see this covered by David)
QF Club membership fee is not worth the money unless you fly a lot in economy. Compare the cost of the occasional overpriced coffee and cake from an airport concession to the coffee/biscuit that comes with the QF Club membership fee. If flights are a business expense fly business and get into the club free whilst building lots more SC points.
Depending on where you work there are plenty of corporate packages for Qantas Club that offer good value, ask and someone might have some knowledge of one you can apply for, I had quite a few good years using QC whilst being silver, I was involved in Defence Dept at the time and get 4 years for $880 from memory , I had only just rejoined when I achieved gold status a few years ago and they carry it over and simply add the balance back to your membership if you slip back to silver down the track, I still have about 3 years 6 months left to fall back on.
I had an email for a recent flight offering me pay in to the lounge pre-flight! Can't remember cost ($60 springs to mind) but didn't use it as I am emirates plat so no need - are they still doing that? So u might even get an email offering you lounge access for a price on the day

Not sure about gumtree potential for purchase options. Remember the passes are now going digital and need to be attached to a specific flight booking.

I'm a Qantas Club member and fly Economy. My membership gives me lounge access. There is an annual fee for the membership.
