Has anyone else noticed that seats that can be selected as a Qantas platinum FF on international flights has been recently restricted? For example row 11 in A380 business is now blocked out as a platinum, and rows 23 and 24 of A330-300 also blocked out (I used to be able to selected both of these as platinum). Presumably these are now only for P1/CL (at least until closer to departure). Domestic flights have had this distinction between P and P1/CL for seat selection for a long time but it has only recently been applied to international flights from what I can see. Pity.
Yes, I also noticed this as a platinum. You used to be able to book any seat in the front section of business class on an A380 (some people refer to this section as "Emerald City"). Now row 12 is blocked out to platinums. So, it's a bit like the front row of business in domestic QF flights. I think the change has been around for a year or so.
Row 11 (front row) on the A380 was always blocked out when I booked (I'm P), probably for P1 and missed connections. I've recently booked 2 SYD-SIN trips business class and had no trouble booking row 12. "Emerald City", I hadn't heard that before but like it.

Yes. Personally I prefer row 12 on the A380 anyway.

This is not a recent change: it has been in effect for some years that I can recall.

Weird, I’m platinum and Qantas always seems to select 11J for me on a 380. Not my preferred seat BTW.

Maybe Qantas has different rows blocked out on different routes. I'll pay more attention to this from now on.

Just to correct the record..I said "Now row 12 is blocked" above. Sorry, I meant 'row 11'
