Given that Changi Airport has arriving and departing passengers on the same level, not different floors like most airports do, does anybody have experience with using the Qantas Singapore lounge as an arrivals lounge after their Qantas flight lands at Changi? Seems to me it could be good for a shower, a drink and even a light meal before you go into the city.

I know that Qantas gives domestic lounge access on arrival to Platinum and above regardless of travel class, but Singapore is obviously a different case. I presume that the QF lounge is airside, so if you've got checked luggage to collect, you may have a problem with it.

Arrivals and departures in Changi are both airside on the same level. Arrivals lounge access for Domestic lounges only.

Hi Bob – technically the Qantas Singapore Lounge is for departures only, in that you need to have a boarding pass for travel that day.

That said, I know of a few very frequent flyers – Platinum Ones and Chairman's Lounge members – who are sufficiently familiar with the Singapore lounge team that the front desk staff let them in on arrival for a cuppa (or an espresso martini!) and a bite to eat.

Obviously this is one of those rare exceptions to the rule, so I'd not walk up expecting arrivals access. (And anyway, with QF flights arriving into Singapore in the evening I'd be heading straight for the hotel.

I'd expect it even less so now since the lounge tends to be at capacity for most of the night.

I haven't flown Qantas/Jetstar from Singapore since the QF1/2 change however many QF Club and one-time pass holders are complaining that they're being put up in the SATS lounge instead and oneworld partners elites not flying QF are being told to go elsewhere due to "capacity problems".
