Here's a hotel status match with a difference...

Hotel status matches are a treat for business travellers and frequent flyers – and now there's a way to turn your status with some of the world's leading hotel chains into VIP standing with a cruise line!

A unique promotion from the popular Mediterranean line MSC Cruises offers a free upgrade to Silver, Gold and Black levels in its Voyager Club loyalty program, based on your status with any of the following hotel reward schemes:

  • Accor’s Le Club Accorhotels
  • Best Western Rewards
  • Fairmont President’s Club
  • Hilton Honors
  • Hyatt Gold Passport
  • Marriott Rewards
  • Starwood Preferred Guest
  • Ritz-Carlton Rewards

(If you hold status with a hotel loyalty program not on the list above, it won't hurt to apply anyway...)

It's a great opportunity for first-time cruisers to get their feet wet, as it were, and still enjoy a range of creature comforts include priority boarding and disembarkation, welcome cocktails, late cabin checkout (up to two hours after your ship arrives in port), a free spa session and a tasting menu dinner for two at one of the ship’s speciality restaurants, depending on your Voyager Club status.

Guests who sign up through MSC's status match promotion will also receive a 5% discount on any booking.

Not sure where your list of hotel schemes came from, but I can confirm it's far more limited.  I recently tried for this status match with Best Western Diamond and Accor platinum, and was told they would not match to either of these.
