Luxury Conrad Xiamen hotel opens in China

Conrad Hotels and Resorts continues to expand in Greater China with the opening of the Conrad Xiamen hotel: the brand’s first hotel in Fujian province and found on the south-western coast of Xiamen Island.

Occupying floors 37 through 54 of the Shimao Straits Tower, the building adopts a sail-shaped design to afford views of Gulangyu Island and provides guests with direct access to a shopping mall, cinema and the Shapowei dining precinct, located 22km from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.

The property’s 241 guest rooms come complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, each averaging 60 square metres with walk-in wardrobes, HDTVs, Nespresso machines, hydrotherapy rain showers and 400-thread count luxury bed linens.

Larger Executive rooms and suites also provide access to the Executive Lounge on 54th floor: which also opens its doors for HHonors Diamond-tier members staying in any room type.

Conrad Xiamen comes complete with five restaurants and bars: Lucheng serves Cantonese and Fujian delicacies, Pier 38 is an all-day dining buffet with a range of Asian and Western dishes and Coast Bar & Grill offers fresh seafood, grilled specialties and doubles as the highest bar in town.

Plush serves High Tea by day and transforms into a bar in the evenings with fine wines and snacks, while French Kiss sells Parisian-style pastries and Western-style meals.

There’s also a 24-hour gym with a range of cardio and strength-training equipment plus personal trainers on tap, while a heated 25-metre pool boasts sea views nearby a hot tub and a spa for unwinding after a long day.

Guests can also take advantage of the Conrad Concierge smartphone and tablet app, while Hilton HHonors members can earn and redeem points at the hotel, with Gold and Diamond members enjoying perks like space-available room upgrades and complimentary daily breakfast.

SkyTeam alliance airline XiamenAir flies non-stop to Xiamen twice a week from both Sydney and Melbourne, while you’ll find Conrad’s other Greater China hotels in Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao, Sanya and Dalian.
