Meet the woman behind 'that' voice at over 200 airports

You've almost certainly heard her voice at over 200 airports around the world – now meet the woman behind all those PA announcements.

63 year old Carolyn Hopkins provides that voice – the one that's authoritative and assured, but also warm and reassuring to travellers.

She welcomes you to the airport, reminds you to watch your bags and sometimes breaks the news of a delay to your flight, after which she also apologies "for any inconvenience caused".

"Travelling an be such a bummer now days that people need a friendly voice" Hopkins explains in the video below.

Enjoy your weekend, from all of us AusBT.

The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers. There is no stopping in the red zone.

The red zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers. There's never stopping in a white zone.

We never said it was new or 'news' – I stumbled over it and it struck me as a fun little piece to share with our readers and close out the week.

So what of its old news?  I'd not seen it before.  As David says, it's a light hearted article to round off a working week.  The comments section on this site is free and open to all for genuine comments about serious articles and also for some light hearted banter. This article was not meant to be ground breaking news. Pass some witty comment or add to the discussion/article. Don't just criticise it for the sake of it.

Keep up the good work David.
