New Star Alliance 'super-lounge' at LAX to open in May 2013
Star Alliance airlines including Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and THAI will enjoy a new 'super-lounge' at Los Angeles International Airport next year.
Designed in conjunction with international architecture firm Gensler, and built as part of a US$1.7 billion make-over of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, the lounge is due to open in May 2013.
It will be managed by Air New Zealand and will be three times the size of Air NZ's existing Koru Lounge at LAX T2.
According to a Star Alliance press statement the new LAX lounge "will be inspired by a contemporary interpretation of modernist LA architecture of the 1950s and 1960s."
Air New Zealand’s General Manager Americas, Roger Poulton, says the lounge will include "different spaces to suit customer needs from a bar area for socialising through to a library space for some quiet time. A special feature will be the outdoor terrace with views over the northern runway towards the Hollywood hills."

I just hope its pre-security - so finally those of us flying a star alliance airline eg United can access it - becasue if your not flying out of TBIT there is no way security will let you through into departures.
At least in JFK you can use the Swiss Senator lounge in T4 becasue its pre-security. And at least in SFO all the Star Alliance lounges are in 1 terminal So we can use SQ,United Int ,United Domestic(via post security walkway) and soon EVA
