Campari, whisky and gin headline Qantas’ new spirits selection
Brookie’s gin, Lark whisky and Campari are just a few of the premium tipples now poured onboard and in lounges.
Qantas is taking its ‘Spirit of Australia’ tagline to heart with an expanded mix of Aussie spirits including Four Pillars Gin, Byron favourite Brookie’s Gin and Starward Nova single malt whiskly now being served at lounges and on flights.
And it’s not just a privilege for the pointy end, with Campari offered as an aperitif in economy on international cabins, as well as domestic business class.
Qantas says some 400 tipples were tasted and reviewed in pursuit of the final spirits list, which also includes Campari as an aperitif across international cabins and domestic business – a nod to the European summer.
“We began planning for our new spirits selection more than 12 months ago with the intention to offer our customers a more premium choice when they fly with us,” says Executive Manager of Product and Service Phil Capps.
“With our flights to Rome restarting and Paris taking off soon, a new aperitif is the perfect way to start or end a European summer holiday.”
First class passengers will enjoy in a rotating array of Aussie gins, such as Applewood, Beachtree Quokka Gin, Brookie’s from Byron Bay and Australian Distilling Co’s Bondi Gin, together with premium whiskies like Tasmanian Lark Classic Cask, Johnnie Walker Green Label and Singleton 15-Year-Old.
The Beachtree gin is also the foundation of the Quokka Gin Sour which debuts on the winter 2024 menu for the Qantas First Lounges at Sydney and Melbourne, served in a classic art deco coupe glass and topped with mountain pepper.
Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is now the standard pour in international premium economy, business and first class; business class passengers will also find H by Hine Cognac on the menu.
Domestic business class now features Melbourne-based Starward Nova’s Premium Victorian Single Malt Whisky, aged in ex-red wine casks.
Qantas’ lounges are seeing a welcome overhaul too, including a warming spiced rum, Campari and Canadian Club in Qantas Clubs lounges, along with the addition of Aperol in Qantas Business Lounges.

This is actually a really good development. I’ve found it pretty poor that in business class Qantas has been serving Beefeater gin this whole time!
