A Frontier Airlines pilot has whipped out his credit card and ordered pizza for 160 passengers on a diverted flight from Denver to Washington.
Severe thunderstorms saw the flight change course and touch down in Cheyenne, Wyoming after the food on board had run out.
We all know what it’s like to face delay after delay, but in an unusual step, the captain decided to feed his hungry passengers by giving the local Domino’s store a buzz.
Ordering one pizza for every row of starving travellers, a Frontier Airlines spokesperson wasn’t “sure if he (the captain) was hungry”, but chances are he didn't need to eat on arrival.
Despite a diverted flight and passengers stuck on the ground, the captain is being hailed as a ‘champion’ by those on board.

Contrasting against my L-O-N-G day on United in First, Vegas to NYC via Syracuse some years back, diverted due to storms. There we sat. And sat. And sat. Eventually the airport management sent one pack of crisps and one small bottle of water per pax. Arrived just seven hours late, starved. While ours was a tattered airplane of tetchy crew and grumpy pax, over the way a Continental 737 had the stairs rolled over so a teenager could, with the S.O., go and unload her dog. She walked him around the grass beside the taxiway, and gave him water. Our Captain commented on the PA that the Continential pilot was breaking several federal laws. That Captain was a hero.

What a great gesture on the part of the Captain (and brilliant free publicity). I'm sure the struggling Frontier will make back the cost of the pizzas a thousand fold by the amount of extra revenue this publicity will generate.
What it shows is an airline thinking out of the box (pardon the pun) and actually serving its customers. Brilliant.
