Qantas 'Double December': extra frequent flyer points, status credits

Qantas will launch another of its prized 'double status credits' deals this weekend, with frequent flyers able to wing their way faster to earning cherished Gold or Platinum status – or keeping their current status for the next 12 months of their membership.

Unlike most double status credit promotions, this offer is open to all Qantas Frequent Flyers. It applies to all domestic Qantas flights through to January 31st 2014, although travel must be booked by December 31st 2013.

You'll also need to register for the promotion at  qantas.com/double – if you don't click the link and sign up, you won't get that second serve of status credits.

Double Qantas Points with Qantas Cash

But wait, there's more..! December has also been decreed as 'double points month', with all eligible purchases made on a Qantas Cash card attracting twice as many Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

This means you'll pick up two Qantas Points for the equivalent of every Australian dollar spent overseas in foreign currency, along with two Qantas Points for every $2 you spend in Australia.

(Note that the Qantas Cash card doesn’t have to be used overseas – it works as a MasterCard debit card complete with tap-and-go PayPass functionality, making it good for everyday use in Australia.)

This double points promo ends at midnight on December 31st.

For further details on both deals, click through to qantas.com/double.

Correct JBH(ifi), according to the Qantas website.  Bugger, because I'd planned to make a booking on Sunday for SYD-LHR.

David,

Is this a generally available offer then - not just to those who are selected?

On going to the link in the last paragraph, does appear to be a deal open to anyone. And you can register now.

Just Australia domestic and I believe excludes the cheaper Anyseat fares

An eligible flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Qantas domestic Australia flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status credits are normally earned. See the Airline Earning Table. Qantas Points and Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Award flights. Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn Qantas Points and Status credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award.

I just clicked on this link to go to the Q-Cash rego (https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/memberSpecials/double-december) and saw that the double status points offer is live now...I've just registered and have received the confirmation email from Qantas.

Hopefully you guys can clarify whether any of the following flights are eligible for the DSC.

I activated the offer when I first heard about it (Friday 29/11) and got the email confirming this on Friday.

On 30/11 I then had some domestic flights (part of an int'l itinerary) reticketed due to a Qantas flight change and the new ticket had a different end destination.

On 2/12 I cancelled an existing booking, which then transformed the value into a voucher. I then used that voucher to book a new flight from 9-11/12.

I also have some existing Domestic CBR-SYD flights (part of int'l itinerary) that were booked before the DSC offer for 14/12 and 5/1.

Will any of these get the DSC? Sorry for the complex comment, but i'm sure you can handle it :-)

FfFlyer, don't you reckon Qantas would be the best people to advise if your flights are eligible for double status credits? I reckon they have a bit more control over the whole thing than anyone here! In other words: why don't you just call Qantas and ask them?
