Singapore Airlines' first Boeing 787-10 is due in March
Singapore Airlines will take delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 in March, with Osaka inked as the first destination and the possibility of an Australian route to follow.
The stretched Dreamliner will also mark the debut of Singapore Airlines' all-new regional business class seat, which is arranged in a staggered 1-2-1 layout, giving direct aisle access to every passenger.

301 economy class seats – expected to use the same seat as the airline's latest Airbus A380s – will complete the configuration, with the Dreamliner foregoing premium economy.
Singapore Airlines' Boeing 787-10 fleet, and a forthcoming regional tranche of Airbus A350-900 jets fitted with the same business class seat, will be used on medium-range 'regional' routes spanning up to eight hours.
Delivery of this first of 49 Boeing 787-10s is expected to take place in late March, with familiarisation flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur from April 3 before the start of a daily service to Osaka on May 3.

Each row will have one seat located outside of the fuselage. These will be sold as economy "ultra lite" fares as you won't have access to any of the services or amenities available to other Y pax seated inside

Any word on the seating arrangement on Economy? By the looks of things 301 seats would most probably indicate 3-3-3 seating.

KLM have 3-4-3 in their 777s so the changes from SQ's A380 are more than just "cosmetic". There's a 4-5cm reduction in seat width.

If you have flown on SQs new A380 you will note that the seat back is around 17inches wide with a 2.5cm spacer inserted either side of the armrest. I presume on the 787 they will use the same seat and remove the spacer.

I've just looked at some photos more closely and notice that the seatback is unusually narrow. I can't seen any spacers as such but it makes sense to have removal part to allow the same seat. I didn't realise seats were designed in such a way but I guess that's probably the future of Y design.

The seat back width on the SQ A380 I measured at 48 cm which is wider than you are claiming

What A380 did you measure? 48cm is the width of the backs of the old seats.

Prediction: This would be the aircraft on the SIN-PER/ADL, and perhaps maybe replacing the 4th BNE-SIN frequency that is using the 772 (The other 3 BNE-SIN frequencies are on A350s).
Mixed A350/787-10 operations for PER and BNE.

I'm more than a bit surprised by the lack of a Premium Economy section - even, if only a small one.
Seeing the total lack of a First Cabin (which I can basically understand), one would think that the Australian market could easily support a W cabin for intermediate regional routes? For 'leisure' travellers in particular, this would seem to be a 'no-brainer' where the allure of marginally better service and space should trump economy Sale fares.

Flying J class on SQ619 KIX-SIN in mid May. Had been booked sitting next to my other half on the old A333, but got moved to behind her on the new B787-10. Looking foward to it!
