Vodafone extends $5/day roaming to Canada, Vanuatu and more
Vodafone customers can now use international roaming in Canada for just $5/day – perfect for the upcoming skiing season in Whistler – with each traveller’s usual data, voice and SMS allowances following them abroad.
If your plan normally includes unlimited calls to Australian numbers, unlimited text messages and 3GB of data per month, for example, that would see you paying just $5/day to enjoy those same allowances overseas.
Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu also join the roster of countries supported by Vodafone’s $5/day deal, taking the total count to 58 – a list which already includes New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the UK, the USA and many more.
“Frequent flying business travellers will have the freedom to fly out for work without any worries about bill shock; it’s just a matter of switching on roaming before they take off,” explains Vodafone’s Chief Marketing Officer Loo Fun Chee.
However, Vodafone continues to limit $5/day roaming to a maximum of 90 days per calendar year, per account: so those same frequent flying business travellers, take note.

It does.
Hopefully they extend the "offer" (again) after Jan 31.
Good to see Canada added. Now I don't have to worry about my phone connecting to a tower in Windsor, ON when I'm in Detroit this weekend

Must just be Vodafone New Zealand because I didn't have it when I was in Singapore a month ago.

Could be the case, but Singapore is definitely supported by Vodafone Australia's $5 roaming: used it there last month with ease, and even works with the local 4G networks.

I'm on Vodafone and I used the $5/day roaming in singapore in early April with few problems, with exception of my phone picking up a signal from Malaysia.

Vodafone should also allow subscribers to use Telstra's rural networks in oz -- $5 a day is acceptable.

Interesting how they sat 90 days maximum. I fly well in excess of that every year and still is $5 per day. When I called up and asked how many days I have used it overseas (just out of curiosity to see how many days I'd actually been away), they told me they couldn't actually see it...

I signed up when the top personal and business plans included the $5 roaming free of charge . Was a godsend during my 3 week Europe trip last year.
